300+ Books Collected for Jail Library

In Summer 2019, because of the effort of our volunteers and the generous donations from our sponsors, we were able to collect more than 300 books to donate to a women’s jail in London, Ontario. We were passionate about this initiative because many inmates say reading helps pass the time. In fact, many say they haven’t read a book in years but now that they are in jail they read about one a week. That’s when it occurred to us at CTF that we have a great opportunity here to get excellent materials to inmates. The more we enrich the jails libraries, the more personal growth and education can expand for the inmates. We’d like to continue this Book Drive initiative again next year. All those outdated jail libraries, with books published in 1984, can look forward to seeing more and more of us as the months and years go on.
